VERY FEW PERFORMANCES MAKE YOU WEEP, INSPIRE YOU TO CREATE. MY HEAD WAS SPINNING.Blair MacKenzie Blake (Biography)www.butcherband.com 01. June 2005 |
FAVORITE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: ”Der Rosenkavalier Dorthy Chandler 2005- Such a beautiful opera. Amazing Melodies. Incredible Art direction by Gottfried Helnwein. Very few performances make you weep, inspire you to create. My head was spinning.
La Damnation of Faust Dorthy Chandler Pavillion 2004. I felt as if I were in a Surrealist Painting.
Also, the first time I saw the Melvin's was totally life changing. It was in LA in the early 90's. Such a heavy, evil, mind bending performance. The Melvin's give everything they have to every show. I have been a huge fun ever since. Janes Addiction-Glenn Miller Ballroom, Boulder, Colorado 1987. They were just getting started. The hall held maybe 300 people. It was like swimming in the middle of a hurricane. Stephen Perkins was awesome.”
Forthcoming projects include writing/recording the next Butcher album, touring and working on a series of short films with Heather McMillen (formally known as Heather Borland)and Adele Mildred.
